In 2017 I was invited to join the International Art Festival in Yogyakarta. Together with artists from all over the world we stayed at Ohm Petruk and prepared an exhibition for Jogja Gallery in Yogyakarta. Every artist created three pieces of art: one with a size of 30 x 30 cm and two pieces with a size of 100 x 80 cm.

The small piece I made is inspired by one of the statues at Ohm Petruk.

For one of the bigger pieces I chose nature to be the subject; the colours of the place and the trees and leafs around me.

For the third big piece I was inspired by paintings of the Dutch and European artists who lived and visited the Indonesian Islands in the 20th Century. Like them I wanted to capture the beauty of the people living in the Indonesian Archipel.

I was delighted to find the beautiful and very talented classical dancer Sri Mulyo willing to model for me.

For four days we worked together under the trees and in nature; an incredible experience that I will cherish in my heart and memory forever.
